New Digital SLR Camera Breakthroughs

I'm going to go out on a limb here and suggest that the compact digital camera, as we know it is for the dodo bird to go. Are actually more of the terms of small compact cameras, and not the more sophisticated SLR cameras often seen in the hands of professional photographers. At least until recently, were considered only in the hands of professionals. Now a days, you see more than one friend, colleague, neighbor or family member with an image> Digital SLR with some big Hocking Lens until the end of it related structures. Well, there are some good reasons.

One is the price. SLR cameras and other digital cameras are rapidly falling prices in recent years. Partly, because the digital technology in a rapid development as such. But some suggest, because consumer demand has enabled manufacturers to unexpected levels of mass production, and the savings that accompany them, the economies of scale.

Anotherimportant step forward in the field of SLR cameras is the improved user-friendliness. Basically they are now very easy to use SLR. If you use a compact camera, then there is reason to believe, you can not use a SLR camera. This is primarily through the installation of automatic settings. Automatic settings, you can select a menu option, or turn a wheel, to pick something like "landscape", and the camera knows exactly how to set the shutter speed, ISO, white balance, and a boatload of other settings.

Once you are comfortable with the camera, you have the opportunity to monitor all the intimate details of these individual settings. This brings another important step forward with the SLR, and creative control. While this reflex was in the year, until recently, the learning curve has been made of these functions easily.

Some current progress and future I see> Digital SLR Cameras in full length movies in high definition, photo wireless / ability to share video and gps location stamping capability. With all this stuff would be cool, because you are interested, with less than a SLR camera.

Gil Elvgren: All His Glamorous American Pin-Ups

Post-depression USA was in desperate need of a defining iconography that would lift it out of the black and white doldrums, and it came in the form of Gil Elvgren’s technicolor fantasies of the American dream. From the Forties to the Sixties his painted adverts and posters for, among others, Coca-Cola and Pangburn’s Chocolates, as well as the long-running Brown and Bigelow calendars, were a bright red white and blue account of the country’s aspirations and hopes.

As the country plunged into war Elvgren provided the troops with pin-up girls galore. His technique involved photographing models and then painting them into gorgeous hyper-reality, with longer legs, more flamboyant hair and gravity-defying busts, and in the process making them the perfect moral-boosting eye-candy for every homesick private.

Elvgren defined the classic “pop” vision of Americana, a bold visualisation that has been endlessly appropriated and recycled in advertising, TV, film and art. His style is instantly recognisable. Dubbed “The Norman Rockwell of cheesecake,” Elvgren’s images combine desire for a better life with nostalgia for the nation’s innocent apple-pie past.
